Earlier in 2026, we released a 2-CD collection by the original incarnation of the pioneering Texan western swing band the Light Crust Doughboys, covering their pre-war heyday through to around 1940. In the post-war era, a new lineup of the band got together and in various forms have been performing and recording ever since. A few months after the release of our earlier set, we were contacted by the band’s long-time and current producer/director Art Greenhaw, asking if we would like to release a 4-CD collection covering more recent years in their career. This resulting 94-track 4-CD set is an ultimate, essential music collection representing the New Golden Age and Grammy Years of The Light Crust Doughboys. This is a Texas, USA and even a World musical story that Texans talk about from generation to generation. Covering the quarter-century of the Renaissance period of the band from its 50th Anniversary in 1981 to 2006, the collection has been curated by Art, with the first 26 recordings to showcase some of the most significant creative works in the almost 100 year history of Texas' own, world famous Light Crust Doughboys. It chronicles a fascinating and remarkable musical and cultural phenomenon.
